Island of Hvar


The sunny island of Hvar is well known for its good weather, great nightlife and breathtaking unspoiled nature.

Its 299 km2 makes Hvar second largest Middle Dalmatian island. 67,5 km long and a maximum of 10,5 in width, Hvar is only 4.5 km away from the mainland and    km from Split port. It highest peak is St Nikola, 626 m high.

Average temperatures vary from 9 0C in winter to 25 0C in summer. Its mild Mediteranian climat in combine with 2 715 hours of sunshine per year, developed coastline and rich history make a perfect setup for an active holiday throughout the year.

There are 11 459 inhabitans on the island, in small towns and vilages on the coast and inland, making their living mostly of olive growing, fishing and tourism. Hvar is also well know for its production of premium wines, as well as for growing of lavander and other aromatic herbs.

Facing the south west coast of the island and city of Hvar, lies an archipelago of 20 islets known as Pakleni islets. This maze of channels, bays and beaches makes one of the biggest attractions of this island and it is a popular playground for locals as well as visitors.

Islands are uninhabited, but still, in hidden bays lurk beach bars and restaurants offering refreshment  for all of you out there seeking an adventure, or just enjoying a nice day out on the water.
