Hvar fortresses hike

This tour departs from Hvar town centre. You will meet with your guide who will take you on the tour through narrow Hvar streets climbing your way up from the city square to Španjola Fortress.

Fortica (Španjola) fortress was built above old city in the mid 16th century. Its architecture and military history will thrill you as much as the view of the city of Hvar and surrounding islands.

After the visit of the Španjola Fortress, we will continue our walk towards the higher hill called Napoljun, the French fortress built in 19th century. The trail to the Napoleon fortress is the steepest part of our tour, but once we climb all the way up you will be rewarded with breath taking views on Hvar, Španjola Fortress and sourounding islands.

As we proceed from the French fortress to the East, we will walk through pine woods and small trail as we approach to Hvar town again. Just before Hvar town, we will enter a small abandoner stone quarry. The total distance of this walk is around 6km.
